Zonal round of Meizan National Kabaddi begins

The zonal round of the two-day Meizan National Kabaddi, sponsored by Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited began Thursday at five separate venues across the country, reports UNB.
At the Barisal venue, host Barisal became the zonal champion beating Patuakhali 64-13 with four creditable 'lona' while Pirojpur advanced to the zonal final stage defeating Barguna 48-10 with two 'lona', both in their semifinal matches.
Earlier, in the day's first match, Patuakhali booked their semifinal berth defeating Jhalakati 73-35 with three 'lona' while Barguna confirmed their semis eliminating Bhola 51-34 with two 'lona' at the same venue.
At the Jessore venue, host Jessore moved to the zonal final outplaying Bagerhat 32-19 with four 'lona' in the semifinal.
At the Tangail venue, host Tangail DSA reached the zonal final eliminating Jamalpur 38-7 with three 'lona' in the first semifinal while Mymensingh booked their zonal final berth outclassing Dhaka 40-34 with three 'lona' in the second semis.
Earlier, in the day's first match, Jamalpur reached the semifinal eliminating Gazipur 53-41 with three 'lona' while Mymensingh moved to the semifinal outplaying Sherpur 60-19 with four 'lona' at the same venue.
At the Moulvibazar venue, Moulvibazar emerged champion in the zonal final beating Comilla 38-12 with three 'lona' in the final.
Earlier on the day's semifinal, Moulvibazar booked their zonal final round berth eliminating Sylhet 32-12 with two 'lona' at the same venue.
At the Dinajpur venue, Rajshahi beat Joypurhat 41-14 with three 'lona,' Bogra defeated Kurigram 51-10 with five 'lona' while Nilphamari outclassed Naogaon 52-29 with three 'lona', all reaching to the zonal semifinals.
