ZTE, BIEL starting to roll out first real 4G

Bangladesh Internet Exchange Limited (brand name Ollo) has signed a contract with ZTE Corporation recently, for a nationwide rollout of LTE network in Bangladesh also known as real 4G, said a statement.
Afterwards, Bangladesh Internet Exchange Limited (BIEL) obtained No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC), which denotes regulatory clearance for the imports of equipment and allows proceeding with the network rollout.
ZTE will construct first time in Bangladesh the latest version of 3GPP standard EPC (Evolved packet core) network, VAS (value added services) network and a LTE mobile communications  involving over 1,100 LTE base stations all over the country. BIEL network is one of the first LTE networks in APAC region which is helping Bangladesh secure the leading position in telecom development.
BIEL started LTE trial network in April this year in Dhaka using ZTE corporation equipment. Now it is planned to cover all 7 divisional headquarters and 20 other major district cities shortly. This activity is a part of Digital Bangladesh programme, which will help implement electronic government, mobile banking initiatives and bridge digital divide in the country.
