Zunaed to replace injured Nazim in Australia tour

Tuesday, 19 August 2008

Opening batsman Zunaed Siddique will replace injury-hit top order batsman Nazim Uddin in the Bangladesh team now touring Australia, reports UNB.

Nazim Uddin has been ruled out of the tour after tearing one of the tendons on his left ring finger which would require six to eight weeks for healing.

The injury occurred during the pre-match warm ups of the practice game against the Australian Institute of Sports (AIS) at the Gardens Oval Monday. The BCB Selection Committee picked up Zunaed, who was in standby list for the tour, following a request from the Bangladesh Team Management for an immediate replacement for Nazim Uddin.
