‘Adequate civic services to be ensured in Rangpur’

RANGPUR, Aug 17 (BSS): Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has pledged for ensuring adequate civic services and facilities in turning Rangpur into a modern, beautiful and eco-friendly city.
The Mayor, also a valiant freedom fighter, said this while launching construction works of a drainage system at a ceremony arranged near Keranipara Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque under Ward No-18 in the city on Sunday as the chief guest.
Construction works of the drainage system were launched under the phase-wise construction packages of 142 separate roads, culverts, drainage systems and other works under 142 groups at Tk 330 million (Tk 33 crore) in the city from its own resources. City Councilor for Ward No-18 Nizamul Hassan Badal presided over the function participated by a large number local people from all walks in the society.
Female City Councilor Jafrin Islam Ripa from reserved wards, City Councilor for Ward No-24 Hafiz Ahmed Chhuttu, Executive Engineer of RCC Azam Ali, President of District Crockery Association Ali Hossain Mollah and Joint Secretary of City Shop Owners' Association Moazzem Hossain Mithu were present as special guests.
