Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit Sengupta said on Wednesday equal opportunities would be ensured in the forthcoming city corporation polls if BNP- led 20-party alliance stops unleashing violence, reports BSS.
"Equal opportunities will be ensured in the City Corporation polls, if BNP-Jamaat shuns the terrorism in the name of democratic violence," he said.
Suranjit Sengupta, also a senior parliamentarian of the ruling Awami League, said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on 'Current Politics' at the auditorium of the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the city.
Nouka Samarthak Goshthy organised the discussion with its president Imdadul Huq Selim in the chair.
"Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman have to face the people instead of Election Commission for establishing level playing field for the coming CC election," he added.
