BNP senior leader Brig Gen (retd) ASM Hannan Shah on Thursday accused the government of engaging in repressive measures against the opposition politicians who provide leadership in favour of the people. “The government has taken such a stance over the opposition parties as it fears the people and considers them as enemy,” he said, at a memorial meeting on former BNP vice-president, late Afsar Uddin Ahmed, according to a news agency.
