BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday accused the government of trying to cerate a rift in BNP and said such ‘plot’ will simply fall flat. “The government had conspired to create a rift in our party and alliance before the January 5 polls, but failed. It’s now again trying to split our party, but their evil design won’t be successful this time, too and won’t be able to take any one from our party,” he told a discussion. Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder Smrity Sangsad organised the programme at the Jatiya Press Club, marking the 15th death anniversary of the party’s ex-secretary general. Salam Talukder’s wife Mahmuda Salam was also present, according to a news agency.
