The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal no 2 as the cyclonic storm ‘Hud Hud’ over Southeast Bay and adjoining area moved slightly west-northwestwards and now lies over the same area. It was centred at 6:00 pm on Wednesday about 1085 kms south of Chittagong port, 995 kms south of Cox’s Bazar port, 1140 kms south-southeast of Mongla port and 1080 kms south-southeast of Payra port. It is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm and move in a west-northwesterly direction, said a Met office special weather bulletin, according to a news agency.
