‘Jamaat to be banned by June’

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq said on Friday the government will take steps to ban Jamaat-e-Islami by June this year for its involvement in crimes against humanity during the liberation war in 1971. "The government is thinking of banning the anti-liberation force Jamaat, but it has no plan to ban other religion-based political parties," he said. The minister was speaking at the 'Muktir Utsab', organised by the Liberation War Museum at the Dhaka University.
