‘JS polls in future to be held under constitution’

Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam Friday said that the parliamentary polls in future would be held under Constitution, reports BSS.
"It is not a matter of debate whether the January 5 polls was good or bad, but the election was held as per the constitution. If any election takes place in future, it would be held under the constitution", said the Minister.
The Food Minister said this at a discussion on "Violence and anarchy unleashed by the BNP-Jamaat: Our responsibility" organised by Amra Muktijudder Santan at the Jatiya Press Club in the city Friday.
State Minister for Finance MA Mannan, Liberation War Affairs Secretary of the Awami League Captain (Retd) AB Tazul Islam, Awami League central committee member Amirul Islam Amin, among others, spoke on the occasion.
President of the organisation Huamyun Kabir presided over the function.
Criticising the movements organised by the BNP, the Food Minister said the movement is being organized is not only against the government, but also the whole state.
