‘No alternative to Hasina\\\'s leadership’

Awami League (AL) office secretary and Prime Minister's special assistant Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap on Saturday said there is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina’s leadership for the country’s development.  Addressing a seminar at the Jatiya Press Club marking Sheikh Hasina's homecoming day in 1981, he said the country now generates over 11,000 MW of electricity and this has been possible due to the bold steps taken by the government. Bangladesh Development Journalism Forum organised the seminar, which was also addressed by its president Ali Niamat and writer SM Jahangir Alam. At the function, US Awami League's expatriate welfare secretary Mohammad Solaiman Ali was accorded a reception for his outstanding support to nonresident Bangladeshis living in the USA, according to a news agency.
