‘Special drive against drug adulteration soon’

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim Wednesday said special drives would be carried out against drug adulteration soon as it is very harmful for public health, reports BSS.
"Nobody, who is involved in production and marketing of adulterated medicine, would be spared ... the law has to be applied very strictly to make it a success," Nasim told senior officers of Directorate of Drug Administration at its office in city's Motijheel area, said a press release.
"Drug industry is a highly potential sector as it has international standard and is able to make more contribution to the economy," he added.
Nasim said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to reach health services to the doorsteps of the people.
The minister announced that the Drug Testing Laboratory, which is being constructed for the first time in the country at a cost of Tk 260 million, would be inaugurated soon.
