’Boundary settlement to enhance trade with Myanmar’

President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday said the settlement of maritime boundary disputes between Bangladesh and Myanmar provided an excellent opportunity to enhance maritime commerce and cooperation between the two countries. The President said this when Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar Navy Admiral Zeya Kyaw Htin Thura Thet Swe made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban. During the meeting, Abdul Hamid said the exchange of more training for both sailors and officers between the two countries may be considered in order to foster friendship and sharing knowledge. Admiral Zeya Kyaw Htin Thura Thet Swe said Myanmar always attaches importance to its relations with Bangladesh, adding that this visit would increase the friendly thought between the two countries, according to a news agency.
