Civil aviation minister's mother passes away

Huron Nahar Rashid, mother of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, passed away early Sunday at the age of 83.
She breathed her last at 4:30am at Evercare Hospital in the capital, where she had been undergoing treatment. She had long been battling cancer.
Huron Nahar Rashid was the wife of former minister Harunur Rashid Khan Monno and had previously served as chairman of Monno Group of Industries.
She is survived by two daughters and three grandchildren.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock and sorrow at her death.
In a condolence message, he conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family, describing her as an exemplary woman who consistently encouraged and inspired her husband and children in their good deeds and political activities.
Fakhrul prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
Her janaza was held at the Monno Medical College ground after Asr prayers. She was laid to rest at the family graveyard.
