Journalist Reaz Uddin Ahmed’s death anniv today

Today (December 25) marks the Third death anniversary of eminent journalist and Editor Reaz Uddin Ahmed. Late Reaz Uddin Ahmed was the founding Chief Editor and Managing Director of Financial Express, and was the founder editor and publisher of News Today and Financial Herald. He was a four-time president of the National Press Club and served twice as the president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ). Reaz Uddin was the Chairperson of South-Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) and member of Bangladesh Press Council. Throughout his career, he championed freedom of the press and the rights of journalists, and made invaluable contribution in Bangladesh's democratic movements. He was awarded the top Ekushey Padak in 1993 for his outstanding contribution to journalism and national life. Reaz Uddin Ahmed was born on 30th November 1945 in Manohardi of Narsingdi. To mark his death anniversary, special prayers are being held in the mosque and orphanages in his ancestoral village in Monohordi in Narsigndi district. On the occasion of his death anniversary, his son Dr. Masrur Reaz,Chairman of Policy Exchange Bangladesh, on behalf of the deceased's family,has solicitedeveryone's prayers for the eternal peace of Reazuddin Ahmed's departed soul.
