Journo Reazuddin Ahmed's fourth death anniv today

Today (Thursday) marks the fourth death anniversary of eminent journalist Reazuddin Ahmed. He passed away on December 25, 2021 at the age of 77.
Late Reazuddin Ahmed was the founding chief editor and managing director of The Financial Express and was the founder editor and publisher of News Today and Financial Herald, says a press statement.
He was elected president of the National Press Club four times and also served as the president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) twice. Reazuddin was the chairperson of South-Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) and member of Bangladesh Press Council.
Throughout his career, he championed freedom of the press and the rights of journalists, and made invaluable contribution to Bangladesh's democratic movements. He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1993 for his outstanding contribution to journalism and national life. Reazuddin Ahmed was born on 30th November 1945 in Monohardi of Narsingdi.
To mark his death anniversary, special prayers are being held in the mosque and orphanages at his village in Monohordi.
Reazuddin Ahmed's son Dr Masrur Reaz, chairman of Policy Exchange Bangladesh, on behalf of the deceased's family, has solicited prayers for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
