LDP Sec Gen Dr Redwan joins BNP

Secretary General of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Dr Redwan Ahmed on Wednesday formally joined BNP and will contest the upcoming national election from the Cumilla-7 constituency with the party's electoral symbol, the Sheaf of Paddy, reports UNB. Redwan arrived at the BNP chairperson's Gulshan office in the morning and joined the party, leaving LDP.
He said disputes with LDP chairman Dr Col (retd) Oli Ahmed over seat-sharing with BNP prompted his decision to step down from the party. Welcoming the new entrant, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced that Redwan would contest the Cumilla-7 seat as a BNP candidate using the party symbol.
