Monzur Mofiz appointed as MD of Premier Bank

Md. Monzur Mofiz has been appointed as the managing director (MD) of Premier Bank for the next three years, in line with the board of directors' decision and with the approval of the Bangladesh Bank. His appointment came into effect on Thursday.
Prior to assuming the new role, he was serving as the managing director (current charge) since December 14, according to a press release.
Dr. Arifur Rahman, chairman of Premier Bank, said, "Md. Monzur Mofiz is enriched with extensive experience in the banking sector. We believe that his capable leadership will further strengthen the position of the bank and play an important role in achieving sustainable growth."
With more than three decades of banking experience, Md. Monzur began his career in 1993 at Sonali Bank. He later served as the managing director of ONE Bank. In addition, he worked in various important positions at Dutch-Bangla Bank, The City Bank, AB Bank and Sonali Bank.
He obtained a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and an MBA in finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University. He has notable expertise in corporate banking, fund management, retail and SME deposit growth, and agent banking.
