Trains on Dhaka-Khulna, Benapole routes launched

Two new sets of trains were launched on Tuesday for daily operation on Dhaka-Khulna and Dhaka-Benapole routes through the Padma Bridge and Bhanga to Kashiani junctions, saving travel time and fares.
With these trains - Jahanabad Express and Ruposhi Bangla - Bangladesh Railway (BR) now have four sets of trains on the two routes.
Road Transport Bridges and Railways Advisor Fouzul Kabir Khan inaugurated the new trains at Kamalapur Rail Station after receiving the Jahanabad Express from Khulna at 9:45 am on the day.
According to the BR, the Jahanabad Express is operating between Dhaka and Khulna, and Ruposhi Bangla between Dhaka and Benopole and both are scheduled to reach respective destinations in 3 hours and 45 minutes. The weekly holiday of both trains is on Monday.
Earlier the trains on the Dhaka-Khulna and Dhaka-Benapole routes were operated through Tangail-Iswardi and Tangail-Rajbari, taking 9 hours 30 minutes and 7 hours 35 minutes to reach the respective destinations.
Fares have been fixed at Tk 445 for Shovon, Tk 740 for Singdha and Tk 851 for AC seats of Jahanabad Express which were Tk 630 for shovon and Tk 1208 for AC seats.
Jahanabad Express (825) will start from Khulna at 6am and reach Dhaka at 9:45 am. The same train will start from Dhaka at 8pm and reach Khulna at 11:40pm with stoppages up and down at Noapara, Singia Junction, Narail, Lohagora, Kashiani Junction and Bhanga Junction.
The Ruposhi Bangla Express (828) will start from Dhaka at 10:45 am and reach Benapole at 2:30pm. It will start from Benapole at 3:30 pm and reach Dhaka at 7:10pm. The train will have stoppages up and down at Jeshore Junction, Narail, Kashiani Junction and Bhanga Junction.
Its fares for Shovon, Singdha and AC seats have been fixed at Tk 455, Tk 755 and Tk 905 respectively.
