BFUJ, DUJ demand reinstatement of Kalerkantho, Daily Sun journos

BFUJ- Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) have urged the Daily Kalerkantho and the Daily Sun authorities to reinstate over 50 journalists, who have recently been sacked from the dailies illegally, reports BSS.

Manik Lal Ghosh and General Secretary Akhter Hossain made the call in a joint statement on Monday.
The journalist leaders said the dismissal of journalists during this difficult time of rising commodity has put their families in grave danger.
In fact, the wages of media workers have not increased at all in the last five years, they said, adding, in such a situation, termination of journalists is the worst inhuman act.
The leaders sought intervention of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to solve the problem at the quickest possible time.
