Brilliant Tigers in the first ODI against India

Sunday, 21 June 2015

What a big victory by the Tigers against the visiting Indian team in the first one-day international! They beat India by 79 runs. Debutante pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman stole the show with his sterling performance of 5 for 50. It was a dream debut for him and the whole nation was at its feet when he claimed the last wicket. It was our fourth win against India. The one-day series has still two more matches left and the Tigers must guard against being complacent. Mustafizur nipped in the bud any chances that India had to chase the Bangladesh total. The Bangladeshi batsmen deserve praise for their tenacity and aggressiveness. Tamim, Soumya, Shakib, Nasir and Shabbir scored runs and gave the hosts a respectable total. When the Indian team came to bat, they looked very confident as they knew they had one of the best batting line-ups in the world, but soon their confidence evaporated and they saw wickets tumbling one after another. I heartily congratulate the Tigers for their brilliant performance in the first match and hope they will continue their good work in the upcoming two matches.
