Ex-DIG Nahidul Islam sent to jail

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested A K M Nahidul Islam, former deputy inspector general (DIG) of Police, from his residence at Eskaton in the capital on Saturday. He was sent to jail later.
Nahidul Islam was arrested based on intelligence information - following an arrest warrant issued by the International Crimes Tribunal.
He served as a former superintendent of police (SP) of Meherpur. He was the prime accused in a case filed over the murder of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Tarique Saiful Islam.
