Farhan Ali Wahid makes Fulham debut in pre-season friendly

Bangladeshi-origin winger features against Norwich City as national team eligibility process continues
Bangladeshi-origin winger Farhan Ali Wahid made his unofficial first-team debut for Fulham in a pre-season friendly against Norwich City on Saturday, marking another milestone in his rapid rise through the club's youth ranks, report agencies.
The 19-year-old came on as a second-half substitute as Fulham suffered a 2-0 defeat. Farhan also tested the Norwich goalkeeper with a shot, but was denied.
Farhan had joined Fulham's senior squad for pre-season after impressing in the club's academy and training under head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, raising expectations of a first-team appearance.
The young winger enjoyed an impressive campaign with Fulham's Under-18 side last season, scoring seven goals in 17 matches. He also found the net on his debut for the Under-21 team.
Just four months after breaking into the Under-21 squad, Farhan was named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for November after scoring three goals in two matches.
Meanwhile, the process of making Farhan eligible to represent Bangladesh is progressing. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) vice-president Fahad Karim said that work on the player's passport has
already begun, with his biometric appointment scheduled for next week.
If Farhan eventually makes his Premier League debut for Fulham, he will become only the second footballer of Bangladeshi origin to play in England's top flight after Hamza Choudhury.
