Feud between 2 underworld rivals behind Old Dhaka killing: DB

Detective Branch (DB) of police on Wednesday said the murder of Tarik Saif Mamun in Old Dhaka was the result of a long-standing feud between underworld rivals Imon and Mamun, reports UNB.
Five people including two shooters have been arrested over the killing of Mamun in broad daylight in Old Dhaka on Monday, said DB chief and Additional Commissioner of DMP Mohammad Shafiqul Islam told a press briefing at the DMP Media Centre on the day.
"During interrogation, the arrestees revealed that Rony, a former grocery shop owner from Kafrul who later turned into a top criminal and an associate of Imon, planned the killing, spending Tk 2 lakh," he added.
The arrestees are shooters Faruk and Robin, Yusuf, Rubel, and Shamim.
"Faruk and Robin were professional shooters directly involved in the killing. Two pistols used in the murder, and a motorcycle used in the operation were recovered," the DB chief said.
