IDCOL, Square Group celebrate rooftop solar partnership

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), in partnership with Square Group, celebrated the successful implementation of rooftop solar power projects across Square Textiles PLC and Square Food & Beverage Limited, marking a significant milestone in the Group's sustainability journey.
Under this partnership, three rooftop solar projects with a combined installed capacity of 7.51 MWp have been implemented since 2020. IDCOL provided financing and technical assistance for the projects, says a press release.
The solar installations are contributing to reduced carbon emissions, lower energy costs, and improved energy efficiency across Square Group's industrial operations. A joint celebration of the solar rooftop partnership was held at the Square Group Corporate Office in Mohakhali, Dhaka, on Sunday.
Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of IDCOL and Eric S. Chowdhury, Director, Square Group were present at the event. Also present from Square Group were Md. Kabir Reza, Executive Director - Accounts & Finance, Muhammad Zahangir Alam, Executive Director - Finance & Strategy, Siraj Ahmmed, General Manager - Accounts & Finance, and Mohammad Aminur Rahman, Assistant General Manager - Accounts & Finance.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Eric S. Chowdhury said that Square Group remains committed to integrating clean and sustainable energy solutions into its operations as part of responsible and future-focused industrial growth.
Mr. Alamgir Morshed stated that IDCOL continues to play a leading role in financing renewable energy and supporting private sector participation in Bangladesh's clean energy transition.
