Importance of physical activity

Thursday, 1 December 2022

Experiencing back pain is very common nowadays. One out of ten adults, who have desk-jobs, is now suffering from this. The main reason for this is sitting on chair in the same position for prolonged periods. And at the same time, most modern workplaces do not have a physically-active lifestyle.
Many young people today spend a large portion of their day seated on a chair behind a desk. After work, they are too exhausted to participate in physical activities. This inactivity is increasing the risks of severe health conditions such as high blood pressure, excessive glucose level, and high cholesterol, which can result in a metabolic syndrome, a combination of diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension) and obesity.
The individuals who spend their time sitting for long periods must engage in different activities and habits. People should start with small changes such as taking a stroll during the lunch break within the office premises and walking when taking a phone call at home. Physical activities such as yoga and exercise can also help strengthen one's bones and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
