Islami Andolan withdraws its candidates to support Mamunul Haque

Islami Andolan has decided to withdraw its candidates from the Dhaka-13 and Bagerhat-1 constituencies and extend support to Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Sources said the decision was taken as Mamunul Haque is contesting in both Dhaka-13 and Bagerhat-1 seats. As a result, Islami Andolan will not field candidates in these constituencies.
The party's Joint Secretary General and spokesperson, Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman, disclosed the decision in a statement on Monday. He said Islami Andolan withdrew its candidates from the two constituencies as a mark of respect for Mamunul Haque's sacrifice and contribution to Islamic politics.
He added that the party would extend full support to Mamunul Haque in both seats. Ataur Rahman further said that Islami Andolan is not considering forming alliances with any other political party at this time.
