Missing BB Deputy Director Nayeem rescued after two days

Police have rescued the missing Bangladesh Bank (BB) Deputy Director (DD), Nayeem Rahman, from a residential hotel in Madaripur district.
He was rescued around 10:00 pm on Tuesday (November 11) from the Royal Rest House in the Purana Bazar area of the district.
The bank official had gone missing on Sunday after attending his office (BB) in the capital.
According to police the operation was conducted by Madaripur Sadar Police in the presence of an executive magistrate.
"A Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank had gone missing. Based on information, we came to know that he was staying at a hotel in Madaripur. Later, a raid was conducted, and he was rescued. He is currently in police custody," said the executive magistrate.
Manager of Royal Rest House Nataraj Sarkar said: "He checked into our hotel a day earlier, identifying himself as someone looking for a job. Later, on Tuesday night, police and a magistrate arrived and took him away.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) at Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station Adil Hossain said a general diary (GD) was filed with the concerned police station regarding the matter.
According to Mirpur Model Police Station OC Mohammad Sajjad Romon, Mr. Nayeem went missing voluntarily after borrowing money from people.
He lost the money after gambling and investing in some unscrupulous WhatsApp and Telegram groups, hoping to earn high returns.
When he could not recover the money, he went into hiding, said the OC.
According to the Bangladesh Bank Officers' Welfare Council, Nayeem left his office after 12pm on 9 November, leaving behind his bag and identity card.
Fifty minutes later, his last known location was in the Sayedabad area, when he sent a final message to a batchmate. Later, a general diary was filed.
According to mobile tracking, Nayeem was last located in the Syedabad area of Dhaka at 12:53 pm on Sunday. Since then, there had been no trace of him.
