Nine new HC judges sworn in

Nine High Court Division judges, whose appointments were confirmed on Monday, took oath on Tuesday.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain administered the oath at the Judges' Lounge at 11.00 am, said a notification issued by Md Saifur Rahman, spokesperson for the Supreme Court.
Earlier on Monday, President Md Abdul Hamid permanently appointed nine additional judges to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The newly appointed judges are: Muhammad Mahbub-ul-Islam, Shahed Nuruddin, Md Zakir Hossain, Md Akhtaruzzaman, Md Mahmud Hasan Talukder, Kazi Ebadat Hossain, KM Zahid Sarwar, AKM Zahirul Haque and Kazi Zinat Hoque.
After getting approval from the President, a gazette notification signed by Md Golam Sarwar, secretary to Law and Justice Division under the Ministry of Law, was issued on Monday.
