One dies with measles-like symptoms

One more child died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours until 8:00 am on Tuesday.
With the latest daily count, the total fatalities due to measles and measles-like symptoms rose to 742 since mid-March this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Of the total deaths, 93 were confirmed as measles cases.
Meanwhile, as many as 819 suspected and 173 confirmed measles infections were recorded in the past 24 hours. The total suspected measles infections reached 107,384 and confirmed infections climbed to 12,964 since March 15 last, added the DGHS.
In response to a measles outbreak, rapidly spreading across the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched an emergency measles-rubella vaccination campaign.
