Police ink MoU with Singaporean hospital

Bangladesh Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Farrer Park Hospital of Singapore, aiming to provide better healthcare facilities for its members and others, reports UNB.
AKM Shahidul Haq BPM, Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP), and Dr. Peng Chung Mien, Chief Executive Officer of Farrer Park Hospital, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations at Police Headquarters in the city on Thursday.
Addressing the function, the IGP said that Bangladesh Police is one of the main institutions of the government to provide public safety.
Number of police personnel has been increasing day by day and many of them get injured while performing duties, he said.
He thanked the Ferrer Park Hospital authorities for signing the MoU and requested the hospital authorities to increase the facilities for the police members.
The IGP also urged the hospital authorities to impart training to the doctors of Bangladesh Police.
Under the agreement, the police personnel can avail themselves of various types of healthcare facilities at the Ferrer Park Hospital at a low price. In the initial stage, the agreement will continue for six months. Later, it will be extended on the basis of negotiation between the two organisations, said AIG (Media) of the PHQ Soheli Ferdous.
Additional IGP of CID Sheikh Himayet Hossain, Additional IGP (Administration and Operations) of the PHQ Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Rab Director General Benazir Ahmed, DMP Commissioner Md Aashaduzzaman Mia, Additional IGP of Railway Police Range Abul Kashem, Industrial Police Additional IGP Md Nowsher Ali, senior official of the PHQ and representatives from the Ferrer Park Hospital were present at the signing ceremony.
