Police set up wireless communication using satellite for the first time

Friday, 23 April 2021

Police have established a wireless communication system using VSAT through Bangabandhu satellite for the first time in Bangladesh, reports UNB.
This has opened a new horizon in wireless communication, connecting Bhasan Char Police Station and Rohingya Camp directly with Dhaka and other police units from Wednesday.
VSAT, a very small aperture terminal, is a small-sized two-way ground station that transmits and receives data, voice and video signals over a satellite communication network, excluding broadcast television.
"Thanks to the wireless communication system, remote Bhasan Char Police Station and Rohingya Camp will able to communicate with other parts of the country easily," said AIG (Media) of Police Headquarters Md Sohel Rana.
