Restaurant catches fire in Uttara

A fire broke out at a restaurant in Uttara area of the capital on Friday. However, there was no report of casualties in the incident.
The fire erupted at Love Leen Cafe and Restaurant located on the ground floor of a six-storey building at Sector 12 in Uttara around 10:38am.
On information, a unit of firefighters rushed to the spot and began to douse the blaze, said Anwarul Islam, media wing inspector of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Later, eight more units of firefighters from Uttara, Tongi, Baridhara, Kurmitola, and Siddique Bazar stations took part in the firefighting efforts around 2:00pm.
"Firefighters rescued seven persons who got trapped inside the building," he added.
The fire service official also said the cause of the flames could be ascertained after an investigation.
