Tamim uncertain for first World Cup game

Saturday, 1 June 2019

Bangladesh's injury woes before the World Cup worsened with opener Tamim Iqbal suffering a fresh blow during net session at the Oval on Friday, reports UNB.
"Tamim came out of the net right after the blow which was a sign of worry. But it's too early to say anything about the blow. We can be sure after a scan," Courtney Walsh, Bangladesh bowling coach, told the media at the Oval.
After about an hour, Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud told the media that Tamim is feeling good. But the team management wants him to undergo a scan as a precautionary step.
"We want to be sure that he is fine," Mahmud said.
Along with Tamim, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin are also suffering from injuries.
