Monday, 2 February 2026

A Dhaka court is scheduled to pronounce verdicts today (Monday) in two separate cases against 36 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her nieces Tulip Siddiq and Azmina Siddiq, and nephew Radwan Mujib Siddiq, over alleged irregularities in the allocation of two 10-katha plots under the RAJUK New Town Project.
Confirming the matter to the news agency, court clerk Belal Hossain said the Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 is set to deliver the verdicts at 11:00 am on Monday.
Judge Robiul Alam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 on January 13, 2026, fixed February 2 for pronouncing judgment in a case against 18 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her nieces Tulip Siddiq and Azmina Siddiq, as both the prosecution and defence concluded their arguments on that day.
Earlier, on January 5, the court concluded the recording of testimonies in the case. Investigation officer and ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya testified as the last prosecution witness and later cross-examined by the defence.
