26th National School Handball Tournament begins today

The 26th Polar Ice Cream School Handball (boys and girls) Tournament'2019 will begin at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city today (Thursday), reports UNB.

Managing Director of the meet sponsor Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Ltd. Nazim Uddin Ahmed will inaugurate the meet in the noon at a simple ceremony, followed by a girls group match between Sunnydale and Shaheed Sheikh Russell Government High School.

On opening day, Dhanmondi Tutorial will take on Heed International School in the girls' competition at 9am while St. Gregory's School to play Heed International School boys opening match at 2pm.

A total of 37 school handball teams - 19 boys and 18 girls will compete in the meet, organised by Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) and sponsored by Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Ltd.

The finals of both boys and girls competition will be held on September 25 at the same venue.

The champions, runners-up and the best players of both the boys and girls groups will be awarded.

Sponsor Polar Ice Cream will provide Tk 13, 20,000O of the entire tournament budget of Tk 13,31,450 for the event.
