The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) will host Bangladesh for a white-ball series in October, just after the Asia Cup, reports BSS.

The series comprised with three ODIs and as many T20Is.

Bangladesh will begin the series with T20I leg on October 02 while the remaining two matches will be held on October 4 and 6 respectively.

The T20I series will be followed by three ODIs, which are scheduled to be held on October 09, 11 and 14.

The venues for the series have not been revealed by the ACB.

Expressing his excitement about the series, ACB Chief Executive Officer Naseeb Khan said, "We are proud to host the series against Bangladesh. This tour reflects the strength of our mutual relations and reminds us of our commitment to delivering world-class cricket, even at neutral venues."

The two teams will begin the series after the Asia Cup, also scheduled in the UAE from September 09-28.

Both Bangladesh and Afghanistan are drawn in Group B along with Sri Lanka and Hong Kong.

Last year Afghanistan hosted Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series in Sharjah, a series that they won by 2-1 margin.

Since two teams had already qualified for the T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka next year, the series would make little impact in their rankings.

But the ODI series will have huge significance, considering their qualification for the 2027 World Cup in Africa.
