Bangladesh made a frustrating start in the six-nation Blind Cricket World Cup with a nine-wicket defeat to hosts Pakistan in the opening match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday, reports UNB.

Sent in to bat first, Bangladesh scored 207 runs for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 40 overs with Arifullah making 57 runs. In reply, hosts Pakistan, riding on unbeaten 145 runs by Badar Munir, easily reached their target scoring 210 runs for the loss of one wicket in only 17 overs. Later, Badar Munir was adjudged man of the match. Bangladesh will play their next match against Nepal on Wednesday in Faisalabad.

The tournament includes teams from cricket-playing nations such as Australia, England and India. However, only teams from Bangladesh and Nepal agreed to play in Pakistan while matches with other countries are scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
