Bangladesh U-16 seal ODI series

Beat Pakistan by 17 runs

Bangladesh Under-16 team clinched the three-match one-day series against Pakistan, reports BSS.

They beat the visitors by 17 runs in the second match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Monday.

Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi, who also contributed in Bangladesh's 89-run victory in the first match, dazzled in the second match too.

He scored 44 (34) not out and lead the bowling attack with a 3-50 figure to help the team to take a 2-0 lead.

Opting to bat first, the Junior Tigers piled up 259-7 in 50 overs with opener Mofizul Islam Robin hitting highest 69. Aich Mollah blasted 52 while Rihad Khan chipped-in-with 32 before Mahfuz gave the late impetus with his whirlwind knock.

Aseer Mughal and Aaliyan Mehmood took two wickets for Pakistan.

However, the visitors were restricted to 242-9 in 50 overs to taste 17-run defeat. Opener Sameer Saqib was the highest scorer for the side with 55. Muhammad Waqad was the other notable scorer with 38.

Ashiqur Rahman snapped up 2-39 to complement Mahfuz's three scalps.
