Banned Warner to return as commentator for England-Australia match

June 12, 2018 00:00:00

SYDNEY, June 11 (Deccan Chronicle): Banned Australian batsman David Warner is all set commence commentary duties when he ties up with Channel Nine for Australia's limited-over series against England next week.

According to cricket.com.au, Warner will be one of the commentators for the second of the five ODIs and the lone Twenty20 international against England.

"Dave is the best one-day and T20 batsman of the past decade so he's perfectly placed to join our coverage for the UK series," Channel Nine's director of sport Tom Malone told cricket.com.au.

People have tried to paint Dave as the villain in all this, but he's been hurting as much as the others," he added.

Warner, along with Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were suspended from representing Australia following the infamous ball-tampering controversy during the Cape Town Test against South Africa.
