BD clinch 3 gold medals in Bangla-Bangladesh Wrestling contest

Bangladesh clinched 05 medals -- 03 gold, 01 silver and 01 bronze -- in the two-day Bangla-Bangladesh Wrestling Competition that concluded at Panchanan Gymnasium in Kolkata on Friday, reports UNB.
West Bengal Wrestling Federation arranged the competition to celebrate the birth centenary of former head coach of Indian wrestling team and the first Indian international wrestling referee Sudhir Chandra Saha.
Kamruzzaman clinched the gold medal in the men's 86 kg weight category while Mehedi Hasan won the gold medal in men's 70 kg and Airin Akter Nipa lifted the gold medal in women's 59 kg category.
Among others, Ching Shonu Marma bagged silver medal in 62 kg while Jayanta Roy clinched the bronze medal in 60 kg in the 02-day meet.
A seven-member Bangladesh team consisting five wrestlers and two officials took part in the competition at the invitation of the West Bengal Wrestling Federation.
