Bangladesh National Women's Football Team again suffered a 5-1 goals defeat to host Thailand in the second and final FIFA International friendly match at Bang Mo Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday, reports BSS.
The early breakthrough came for Thailand in the 12th minute. Thai captain Saowalak Pengngam, after taking a pass, darted down from the mid field and sent the ball to the net with a right footer placing shot from the danger zone, giving no chance to Bangladesh custodian Rupna.
Thailand's second goal followed 11 minutes later and was a product of a solo effort in the 23rd minute. Jiraporn Mongkoldee, after receiving a long range pass from midfield, ran down and took a lofted shot from the edge of the D box giving no chance to custodian Rupna.
Bangladesh fought back in the match following a well work corner routine in the 29th minute. Shamsunnahar junior reduced the margin with a towering header utilising a corner kick taken by Maria Manda from the left wing.
Madison Casteen further widened Thailand's margin scoring the third goal for Thailand in the 34th minute with a perfect execution from the close range. Custodian Rupna, however, came forward to clear the ball but could not save the goal.
Back with a healthy 3-1 lead, Thailand struck again on Bangladesh's tent after the resumption. Madison Casteen completed her second and fourth goal for Thailand with a powerful long-range shot in the 54th minute.
Four minutes later, Jiraporn Mongkoldee made the score line 5-1 scoring her second goal from a spot kick.
Bangladesh desperately tried to reduce the margin in the remaining proceeding but the Peter Butler side found it difficult to carve opens the Thailand defence. When they did manage to get shots off, Thailand goalkeeper was equal to the task.
Thailand were tactically astute in the second half, not allowing Bangladesh time or space to mount a comeback. Anticipating their tendency to push hard after the break, the hosts closed down passing lanes and nullified any potential threat.
Bangladesh earlier suffered a 3-0 goals defeat to Thailand in the first friendly match.
