BPL back in city today

The Rangpur Riders will take on Rajshahi Kings in their 3rd tussle of the 5th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at Mirpur in the city today (Saturday), reports UNB.

In the day's another match defending champions and second slot holders in the league table Dhaka Dynamites will face table topper Sylhet Sixers at the same venue.

The 1st match will begin at 1pm while the 2nd one from 6pm. Satellite channels Gazi TV and Maasranga TV will telecast all the matches live.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's Rangpur Riders started the seven-team tournament campaign with a six-wicket victory against the West Indian all-rounder Darren Sammy's Rajshahi Kings. Rajshahi Kings conceded 33 runs defeat to all-rounder Nasir Hossain-led Sylhet Sixers.

Rangpur Riders failed to stay on sweet note in the league as they suffered an 11-run defeat to Pakistani player Misbah-ul-Haq's Chittagong Vikings. Sylhet Sixers had spotless in this tournament with three consecutive victories before Khulna Titans upset them by six wickets.

Sylhet Sixers started their journey upsetting Dhaka Dynamites by nine wickets in the tournament opener at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on November 4 and maintained their winning streak against Comilla Victorians and Rajshahi Kings with four wickets and 33 runs victory respectively.

Shakib Al Hasan-led Dhaka Dynamites secured a 65-run victory against Titans to taste their maiden win.
