Brothers Union beat Prime Bank in Premier cricket

An all-round performance by former national cricketer Alok Kapali enabled Brothers Union Club to share the top slot in the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League beating Prime Bank Cricket Club by 24 runs at the BKSP ground-3 in Savar on Sunday, reports UNB.

After the day's match, three teams - Abahani Limited, Brothers Union and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club -- maintained their all-win record in the league securing full four points from straight two matches.

Sent in to bat first, Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club piled up comfortable 294 runs for 7 in allocated 50 overs, featuring 95 runs in the 5th wicket by Alok Kapali and Yasir Ali.

Two down Alok Kapali hammered 79 runs off 67 deliveries, hitting five fours and five sixes while number six batsman Yasir Ali contributed unconquered 69 runs off 63 balls.

Besides, national coloured opener Junaid Siddique (45), opener Mizanur Rahman (36) and one down Mysukur Rahman (30) were the other notable batsmen for the Brothers Union.

Delwar Hossain and Ariful Haque picked up two wickets each conceding 54 and 76 runs respectively.
