Dhaka, Khulna move to women's hockey final in Youth Games

Dhaka and Khulna Division advanced to the final of the Bangladesh Youth Games hockey eliminating their respective rivals in the semifinals on Tuesday at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city, reports BSS.
In the day's first semifinal, Khulna Division blanked Rajshahi Division by 4-0 goals after leading the first half by 1-0 goals while Dhaka booked their final spot beating Rangpur Division by 3-2 goals after dominating the first half by 2-1 goals in the second semis.
Meanwhile, in the boys' section, Rangpur and Rajshahi Division secured their place in the final of the meet held at the same venue.
Rangpur Division beat Dhaka Division by 2-1 goals after the first half ended goalless in the first semifinal while Rajshahi Division ensured their final berth drubbing Chittagong Division by 5-0 goals in the second semis.
In handball, Rajshahi Division maintained supremacy in girls' section of the Bangladesh Youth Games beating Mymensingh Division by 22-17 goals in the final on Tuesday at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.
The winners led the first half by 14-5 goals.
Purnima Rani of Rajshahi was the highest scorer with eight goals while Shahnaz supported her with six goals. Alpona scored seven goals while Mishti netted five goals for silver medal winners Mymensingh Division.
Before the final on the day, Khulna finished third in the meet beating Dhaka Division by 16-14 goals in the place-deciding encounter held at the same venue.
