Dhaka Premier Cricket League kicks off today

The 5th edition of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League will begin today (Monday) simultaneously at three separate venues -- Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) Ground 3 and 4 in Savar and Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS) in Fatullah, reports UNB.
On the opening day of the 12-team one-day-match tournament, defending champions Gazi Group Cricketers take on Agrani Bank Cricket Club at BKSP Ground 3 while Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club face Shinpukur Cricket Club at KSOAS and Abahani Ltd will meet Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity at BKSP Ground 4. All the matches will begin at 9 am.
In the remaining three matches of the 1st round on Tuesday, Prime Bank Cricket Club will face Kalabagan Krira Chakra at KSOAS while Mohammedan Sporting Club play Brothers Union at BKSP Ground 3 and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club face Legends' of Rupganj at BKSP Ground 4.
The 2nd round of the List A league will begin on February 9. There will be a reserve day for each match in the 1st phase of the tournament. If any match ends with no result on the reserved day points would be equally split between the two sides.
The 1st phase of the league will end on February 20 and the six-team super league will begin after a two-day break.
