Dilkusha, PWD register win

Dilkusha Sporting Club and Public Works Department (PWD) Sporting Club made a good start in the Green Delta Insurance Metropolis First Division Hockey League winning their respective opening matches at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium in the city on Sunday, reports UNB.

Earlier, Youth and Sports Secretary Mohammad Abdullah inaugurated the league at a simple ceremony.

Adviser of the league sponsor Green Delta Insurance Company Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury was also present on the occasion as a special guest.

In the day's first match, PWD Sporting Club beat Shantinagar Club by 2-1 goals.

Mohammad Sajed put PWD SC ahead in the 7th minute by a field goal (1-0) while Parimol doubled the margin in the 16th minute, also by a field goal (2-0).

Akash reduced the margin for Shantinagar Club scoring a field goal in the 43rd minute (2-1).

In the day's other match, Dilkusha Sporting Club outplayed Bangladesh Railways by 4-0 goals at the same venue. Bandhan contributed two field goals in the 22nd and 32nd minute while Rajon and Likhon scored one field goal each in the 6th and 23rd minute respectively for the Dilkusha SC.
