Newcomers Euro Famous Club made a good start in the Metropolis Third Division Football League beating Jurain Janata Club by a solitary goal in the opening match at the Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Stadium at Kamalapur in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Nurul Afsar scored the match-winner for Euro Famous in the 68th minute.
In the day's other match, PWD Sporting Club beat Gazirchat SC by a lone goal scored by Jewel Ahmed in the fifth minute. Moslem Ahmed of PWD SC received red card in the match.
Earlier, in the afternoon, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Olympic Association Col. (retd) Mohammad Wali Ullah inaugurated the 22-team league.
