The top two teams of eight zonal teams of two divisions will compete for the title later stage.

In this regard, a press conference was held Friday at the conference room of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) to provide all the details of the meet.

BKF's joint secretary Gazi Mohammad Mozammel Haque said the country's sports arena was paralysed due to COVID-19 pandemic and in order to reduce inertia , we have taken the initiative to organise the IGP Cup Kabaddi.

He said: "The players' selection process ahead of the youth world cup kabaddi already started … we finished third position in the last edition and want to make more improvement in the upcoming kabaddi world cup."

Gazi said the preparation of players for the Asian Games already got underway and emphasis has been given to improve the players' fitness level.

BKF's joint secretary informed that both the men's and women's kabaddi teams would sent to India to make them prepared and apart from the training the teams would play practice matches against the provenance teams.

Gazi replying to a question admitted that there is no way to deny that we are lagging behind from India and Pakistan in the world stage kabaddi and at the same time he hoped that it'll take time to reduce gap with the top teams.

He said the programmes already have been taken in this regard.
