Gemcon Cup Golf Tournament ends

RANGPUR, Apr 22 (BSS): The three-day 'Gemcon Cup Golf Tournament-2018' ended on Rangpur Golf and Country Club (RGCC) ground here on Saturday.

Over 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the tournament.

The Gemcon Group sponsored the tournament organised by RGCC.

In the Male Group, golfer Lieutenant Colonel Yusuf secured the first position while golfer Major General Md Masud Razzaque won the best gross award.

Golfer Lieutenant Colonel Mamun became the runner-up while golfer Major Ashraf won the second best gross award. Golfer Major Didar became the second runner-up while golfer Brigadier General Shams Alauddin Ahmed won the third best gross award.

Golfer Brigadier General Md Mahbub Sarwar won the maximum par award while golfer Dr Zabed Akhter got the 'conventional on' award.

Golfer Major Muhit won the longest drive award while golfer Major Mainul got the maximum par award.

In the Female Group, golfer Subah became the winner while golfer Mrs Nasrine Haque Boby was awarded for becoming the best gross. Waseka secured the first position while Ridin became the runner up in Junior Group.

In Sub-Junior Group, Saba secured the first position and Saiba became the runner- up.

Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of RGCC Major General Md Masud Razzaque distributed prizes among the winners in the concluding ceremony as the chief guest.

Representative of Gemcon Group Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Monayem, high ranking military officials, RGCC officials, participating golfers and other invited guests were also present.
